Common questions

What resolution should I choose?

Most Frame TVs are 4K (3840×2160), so that's the default. If you have a 1080p model (some 32" and 43" sizes), choose 1080p. 8K is future-proofing — the TV will scale it down, but the file will be larger.

Why does Samsung add a mat border by default?

The Frame TV's default Art Mode adds a virtual mat border around photos that don't match the screen's 16:9 aspect ratio. Uploading a correctly-sized 16:9 image eliminates the mat entirely.

How do I upload the photo to my Frame TV?

Open the SmartThings app on your phone, go to your Frame TV → Art Store → My Photos, and upload the downloaded file. Alternatively, use a USB drive plugged into the TV's USB port.

Will this reduce my photo quality?

The tool uses the browser's highest-quality resampling. Start with the highest resolution original you have for best results.

Does this work with any TV, not just Frame?

Yes — any 16:9 display will benefit from a correctly sized image. The tool outputs a standard 16:9 JPEG.
